San Salvador Liberada |
Words & Music: Ricardo Andino.
One of the choir's earliest pieces, this song anticipated a rebel victory in Ricardo's native El Salvador, led by the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front. It didn't quite happen the way the song forecast but we're glad the war is over.
San Salvador Liberada!
San Salvador Liberada!
Por el Frente Farabundo Martí Para La Liberación Nacional!
Ya las masas se aglomeran en la Plaza Libertád!
San Salvador Liberada!
San Salvador Liberada!
Por el Frente Farabundo Martí Para La Liberación Nacional!
Las guerillas urbanas fueron abriendo la brecha
Para que los milicianos organizaran al pueblo,
Y entrando los batallones! Triunfa la revolución!
San Salvador Liberada!
San Salvador Liberada!
San Salvador liberated! Liberated by the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front! The crowds are massing in Freedom Square! The urban guerillas were opening the breach so that the militia could organise among the people. And in come the batallions! The revolution triumphs!
