At the beginning of this century in the malaria-ridden rice fields on Northern Italy women were raising their voices - their 'beautiful and good tongues' - to defend their rights. La Lega Créscera is a traditional song of unknown author that was arranged by one of our choir's first directors, Ricardo Andino, a talented musician from El Salvador and a fine comrade.
